New in 2026: Quebec is tightening registration. Two proofs of principal residence are required at registration and renewal, and the owner's or condo syndicate's consent will have to be renewed every year (measures announced March 25, 2026, in force April 9 and September 1, 2026).

After a moratorium, the City regulates tourist residences through conditional uses (bylaws SH-165 and SH-200); the exact state of the zones is to confirm.
